Evaluation project on STEM education completed

July 22, 2024

At the turn of the year 2023/2024, the E-JIA evaluation project, funded by the Telekom Foundation, entered its final phase and was recently completed. The project examined the extent to which students at the Junior Engineer Academy, a voluntary STEM education program offered at over 100 schools throughout Germany, develop through their participation in the program and what attitudes they have when they leave the JIA. The aim of the program is to get students excited about STEM subjects and to promote their interest in these areas. The scientific evaluation project yielded insightful findings regarding the development of learners' interests and career orientation, as well as the importance of teachers. In an interview with the Telekom Foundation, Prof. Kristina Kögler and Michael Weber provided an insight into the results. The interview offers a compact overview of the key findings and can be viewed HERE along with the full final report.
