[LLiS | BeeLife] Article in the Chemnitz University of Technology alumni newsletter

April 22, 2021

Funded by the German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU), a cross-location research team led by Jun.-Prof. Maria Wirzberger (University of Stuttgart) and Prof. Günter Daniel Rey (Chemnitz University of Technology) has been working on the BeeLife project since December 2020. The original idea for the project arose during a seminar on interactive learning media at the Institute for Media Research at Chemnitz University of Technology. The aim of the project is to convey the fascinating diversity of wild bees and their habits using game-based interactive approaches. This innovative idea from a group of students convinced not only Jun. Prof. Maria Wirzberger but also the DBU – and is now finding its way into classrooms. The target group is 5th and 6th grade students and their teachers, as the finished intervention ties in directly with the content of secondary school curricula.
